- Help!
-
- I have a 1970 Karmann Ghia, and a BIG problem. The other day I went to open
- the engine compartment, and the cable broke. Now replacing the cable is not a
- big deal, but I have to get into the engine compartment to do so. So, the
- question is;
-
- Does anyone know how to open the lid manually? (The cable broke off too far in
- to get, so that option is out.)
-
- I looked at the underside of the body where the latch mounts, and there are 4
- weld nuts about 4.5 inches apart. Anyone know if these are in fact the latch
- mount bolts? If so, in an emergency I could drill them out (yuck) or possibly
- use a bolt extractor (in reverse?). Anyway, I would really apreciate any info.
-
- Thanks;
