- I agree with your choice of springs; the Neuspeed lowering springs are
- probably the best on the market for a street VW. I have put these on
- two different cars (A1 and A2) and have been very happy. On my Scirocco,
- I have Hor springs and Illumina shocks --it handles great but rides
- terribly. Most of the difference in ride quality is due to the shocks;
- the Tokico Illuminas have too much rebound no matter how they are dialed
- in, which can make things complicated when braking hard on rough
- surfaces. If you really want an adjustable shock, buy the Konis. I don't
- like the adjustment mechanism as much but I prefer the valving. For most
- people who only drive on the street, an adjustable shock is not necessary.
- For a non-adjustable shock, you can't beat Bilstein -- APS sells their
- Neuspeed/Bilstein kit, which is excellent. You can even get it fully
- assembled, if you're lazy, eliminating the need for a spring compressor.
