- Here's one for all of you water-cooled, gas-powered gurus out there.
- My Mom's '90 Jetta *refuses* to start if the temperature is below about 15F.
- You can crank it forever, and it almost seems like it's going to catch, but
- it either dies out while you're still cranking or as soon as you let go of
- the key. She took it in and had a tuneup at a local garage (and found out
- that the dealer hadn't done half of the things that they were supposed to do
- at the regular service visits, but that's between them and VWoA now)
- Anyway, once the car is started it seems to run just fine. It's not the
- battery -- there's plenty of power. (You can even jumpstart another car
- from it without starting it.) It doesn't seem to be the fuel -- it's done
- this through a few tanks of gas from different stations now. The garage can
- never duplicate the problem because it's never cold enough when *they* try
- to do it. Anyone have any ideas?
-
- Tom
