  12. According to the article in VolksWorld the Mexican Beetles
  13. are manufactured with 1200 cc motors. As far as emissions go
  14. they do have a catalitic converter on them as of 1992 so
  15. Mexico can try to address it's smog problem. However, the
  16. engines are still carbureted, which would seem to me that
  17. the emissions are probably higher than US standards, then
  18. again, it may not be too difficult to adapt a Bosch
  19. K or KE system to a 1200cc motor.
