  23.   Well now you've got my ire up, too.

  25.   It ain't the schools that aren't teaching the three R's, bub.  It's
  26.   lazy, unmotivated children with equally lazy, unmotivated parents
  27.   setting a lazy, unmotivated example.

  29.   My wife has been an educator in this state for seven years now,
  30.   both in the private and public sector.  I was amazed at the lack
  31.   of parental involvement and concern for students.  One of the
  32.   single most common complaints coming from parents was that Johnny
  33.   was stuck with too much homework every night.  Evidentally,
  34.   Johnny is much more capable of setting an appropriate work load,
  35.   even though he's only in the fourth grade.

  37.   Seems to me that many of us got a pretty good education when we
  38.   were growing up, and everyone was making the same damn complaints
  39.   then as they are now.  You're such a champion of personal
  40.   integrity and motivation I'm surprised you've forgotten that
  41.   you only get as much out of an education as you put into it.  And
  42.   many kids aren't putting squat into theirs.  How the hell
  43.   is a teacher supposed to compete for attention with Super Mario
  44.   Brothers?  What's a teacher supposed to do when mom and pop come
  45.   banging on the door of the principal accusing the teacher of being
  46.   too hard on the students academically?
