- HELP!
- I've recently purchased a newer home. I have an open
- staircase with oak spindles and banisters. The problem
- I'm having is the railing is starting to wobble. Part of
- the problem is the end posts don't extend to the ceiling.
- I think the way the system is mounted to the floor is that
- a metal track is installed, and then the post/spindles are
- mounted/slide onto this (but I'm not sure). I am able to slide
- the end post back about an 1/4 in., and I can see a metal plate.
- When I rock the post back and forth, so does this plate. I
- can't move the post back any farther without pulling up some
- carpet. Has anyone had a similar problem, and if so, how did
- you fix it?
