  14. HELP!
  15. I've recently purchased a newer home. I have an open
  16. staircase with oak spindles and banisters. The problem
  17. I'm having is the railing is starting to wobble. Part of
  18. the problem is the end posts don't extend to the ceiling.
  19. I think the way the system is mounted to the floor is that
  20. a metal track is installed, and then the post/spindles are 
  21. mounted/slide onto this (but I'm not sure). I am able to slide
  22. the end post back about an 1/4 in., and I can see a metal plate.
  23. When I rock the post back and forth, so does this plate. I 
  24. can't move the post back any farther without pulling up some
  25. carpet. Has anyone had a similar problem, and if so, how did 
  26. you fix it?
