- Last night we had the breaker on the dish-washer/disposal circuit trip.
- At least I assume it tripped. We tried to turn on the disposal and
- nothing happened. After checking inside, I checked the breakers and found
- that one tripped.
-
- I don't know why it tripped either. There was no unusual load (the disposal
- wan't clogged or jammed).
-
- The problem is that I can't get the breaker to reset. The lever moves, but
- it won't 'click' off or back on. It just stays in the tripped state.
-
- So, do I need to replace the breaker? Do they tend to die in this way (the
- house is about 10 years old)? Is there something else I can do or something
- simple (ie obvious) I missed?
-
- Thanks.

- PS: why can't this type of thing wait until AFTER we've moved out
- (which will happen in a week or two)?
