  10. I am currently in the market for replacement windows for our 45+ year old
  11. house.  Currently, the house has single-paned, wood double-hung windows.
  12.  
  13. Anyone have any recommendations for double-paned replacement windows.
  14. We are basically interested in either vinyl or aluminum.  Are the superior
  15. insulating properties of vinyl a sufficient reason to choose vinyl over
  16. aluminum (I live in the San Francisco Bay Area climate) ?  Is one more
  17. secure than another?

  20. Can anyone recommend a good brand of vinyl or aluminum replacement windows?
