I am a teacher of 7and 8 year olds in New Zealand. I am keen to establish contact with a class of a similar age with a view to exchanging : 1. class letters on a regular basis - information about the class, school, city, weather, similarities and differences in lifestyle, any topics of interest, etc 2. group letters on different subjects, and possibly 3. penpals.
One of the underlying purposes for the exchange (apart from adding interest to learning and living, and providing opportunities to use this technology which is new to us) is to enhance our Social Studies programme.
We live in Dunedin (close to latitude 45 south), a city of about 100,000 people and many old buildings, a beautiful harbour and beaches - too cold for most of us to swim in except on the very hottest days of summer! We have interesting wildlife close by with a royal albatross colony and yellow eyed penguins and lovely scenery in our area. Our school, Kaikorai Primary, has 10 teachers and about 270 children from 5 to 10 years.
