-
- I don't know of any programs to move data between Lotus Organizer and
- the 95's applications. Since Lotus wrote nearly all the software in
- the 95 there's a (slim) chance that Lotus Organizer can directly read
- the files. If not, the file formats are well documented and programs
- are available that will convert to plain ASCII and some other formats.
-
- A case is a good idea, I use the Sharp Wizard case with some velcro.
- EduCALC sells that case as well as others made specifically for the 95.
-
- There are a bunch of different commercial cables available. I have the
- plain EduCALC (it's marked Nuvotech) 4 pin to 9 pin female cable. It
- plugs right into the back of my MS-DOS machine with no other adapters
- (integral null modem). If you plan on using a 95 with a modem or
- printer often you might want to get one of the switchable cables or
- adapter kits. HP seems to have a nice kit and EduCALC has a some nice
- kits as well. A cable is a cable for the most part. You might want to
- get HP's Connectivity Kit, it has an MS-DOS version of all the software
- on the 95 (except Lotus 123) and can run other System Manager
- applications. The kit also has DC95/DCS95 which serial port virtual
- disk package.
-
- A PCMCIA card drive is faster and better in some other ways than
- a serial cable. However the cheapest drives are about $150. It
- also means buying a SRAM card and keeping most data on the card.
-
- >Finally, has anybody got it running with os/2?
-
- Do you mean OS/2 on the 95? The 95 has a NEC V20 processor which is
- basicly a faster Intel 8088 with a built in Z-80 mode (yes, the 95 can
- run CP/M software). OS/2 won't run. The Connectivity Kit will
- apparently run on OS/2 with some adjustment.
