  16. Sam, you've basically got two choices, or one choice and a chance basically.
  17. The Sharp JX100 is 18bit color and limited to 6x4 inch scanning, but does a
  18. very nice job.  I've seen it sell for less than $300 here and there.  The
  19. next choice/chance is the Epson es300c from someplace selling them cheap. I
  20. haven't seen them under $500, but darned close in Computer Shopper and other
  21. mail order oriented PC magazines.

  23. Once you have the scanner, allow me to suggest ImageFX as your scanner
  24. control program of choice.  It comes with modules to control BOTH of these
  25. scanners, as well as 24bit painting, image processing and many other features
  26. all included for one low price.  About $250 mail order I believe.
