  12. I have a Pioneer DRM-600 (six disk CD-ROM changer).
  13. I recently asked a retailer if there was an upgrade to the
  14. DRM-604 (model # is something like that...) which is 
  15. supposedly a lot faster (bigger buffer, double speed?).

  17. Short answer was no, can't get there from here, but there is
  18. some kind of an upgrade for the DRM-600 that improves its 
  19. performance. He said it was about $200 and required the unit
  20. be returned for a board swap or rom upgrade or something.

  22. Does anyone have any details about this upgrade? The retailer
  23. didn't know what effect it had, only that they had some
  24. "happy customers."

  26. I'd like to know what aspect of the performance is improved,
  27. and if it would be better to sell the box and buy a DRM-604
  28. instead. For all I know, it is a bug fix and doesn't speed
  29. anything up.
