- I have a Pioneer DRM-600 (six disk CD-ROM changer).
- I recently asked a retailer if there was an upgrade to the
- DRM-604 (model # is something like that...) which is
- supposedly a lot faster (bigger buffer, double speed?).
-
- Short answer was no, can't get there from here, but there is
- some kind of an upgrade for the DRM-600 that improves its
- performance. He said it was about $200 and required the unit
- be returned for a board swap or rom upgrade or something.
-
- Does anyone have any details about this upgrade? The retailer
- didn't know what effect it had, only that they had some
- "happy customers."
-
- I'd like to know what aspect of the performance is improved,
- and if it would be better to sell the box and buy a DRM-604
- instead. For all I know, it is a bug fix and doesn't speed
- anything up.
-
- Thanks for your time.

- P.S. Anyone want a 6 disk changer for their server/BBS?
