  16. I would like to install an Exabyte 8205 (a new model), but need to
  17. get device drivers and backup software for it. My system is
  18. basically DOS/Windows (and a small partition for OS/2).

  20. I would prefer hsareware or public domain software if it is any
  21. good (and often it is). If not recommendations for commercial
  22. software would also be useful.

  24. I am aware that Central tools V 8.0 now might bea able to do the
  25. job. I am also aware that Sytos and Novastor (Novaback?) also have
  26. backup software. Can anyone suggest which of these is the way to
  27. go. I currently own Central Tools 7.1 so that an upgrade would be
  28. inexpensive.

  30. One special point about the EXabyte 8205. It has two modes in which
  31. it operates: 8200c (compressed mode) whichis its native default
  32. mode, and 8200 which is for backward compatibility to the earlier
  33. Exabyte 8200 tape drive. I need software that can switch between
  34. these two modes.  The drive responds to a SCSI MODE SELECT (15h)
  35. command.
