-
- >5) Does it really come with 2mb of 32-bit chip ram?
-
- Yes.
-
- >6) What are the 1200's main expansion ports?
-
- The expansion port from the 500 is gone. Instead ya got the PCMCAI slot
- (16-bit). You also got a rather cool 150pin cpu slot connected directly to
- the 020.
-
- >7) What can you put in each of these ports? (RAM, math chips etc.)
-
- The PCMCIA, 16-bit fast ram, ethernet adapters, SCSI controllers and god knows
- what else.
- The CPU slot: Accelerators, maths co-pros, PC emulateors, 32-bit fast ram
- (speeds up the 1200 a lot!) etc. You can add up to 4 megs 32-bit fast ram via
- the CPU slot, and four megs 16 bit via the PCMCIA slot.
-
- >9) Is it worth it to buy a 2.5 inch drive myself and put it in?
-
- Yup, I did. Your warranty would be gone of course.
-
- >10) Is it a plug and go operation to put a HD in a 1200?
-
- Mine was as it was preformatted and with WB3 installed. If you get a PC drive,
- you will have to format it yourself etc. You will need software for this bit.
-
- >11) Will my old programs work with it? (i.e. Imagine 1.0)
-
- Yes, all the OS friendly ones should, about 60% of games/demos will.
-
- >12) How fast is it? (Anyone run SysInfo or AIBB on a 1200?)
-
- According to Sysinfo, 2.2 times faster than the 500/600. I hear it is 4.8 times
- faster with some 32-bit fast ram installed, although I can't guarantee this.
- Send me some and I will tell you.....
-
- >13) Does the 1200 come with CrossDos and Arexx?
-
- Yup.
-
- >14) Anyone want to buy my old A500/68030/68882/25Mhz/3meg/512chip/WB1.3?
- > (Didn't think so!)
-
- Nope.
