- I don't know if someone answered this question but yes BODY OF EVIDENCE was
- cut to get an R rating. I think it's only responsible journalism for
- reviewers to say so, but usually they don't (other similarly treated films
- are DAMAGE, THE LOVER ...).
-
- Someone on one of these lists suggested that the pay channels don't carry
- NC-17 films. Cinemax does regularly. But they also seem to show R
- versions if two versions are available.
-
- Latest "casualty" or whatever is in the hands of the director. Vincent
- Ward cut his massive MAP OF THE HEART HUMAN, a
- Canadian-French-Australian-British etc. "European" film, after the Cannes
- festival of 1992, where it was presented as a "work in progress." It was
- very long; now it is 106m. Ward did the cutting himself and added "new
- scenes in the middle of the pic...flesh out what was a disappointingly
- sketchy series of relationships...one day's extra shooting in
- London"--Variety 1/11/93. Variety praised the original and praised the cut
- version. It's now called MAP OF THE HUMAN HEART. If it really is any
- good, some day there will be articles about all the minute cuts that were
- made and a laserdisk version--but which will be the director's cut?
-
- Just wondering,
-
