- Subject: Necessity Delayed, Or, Mail Still Going Through; Details
- Lines: 24
-
- It's said that the mail MUST go through, but necessity can work slowly,
- and I fear that the SCSECS programs are still going through bulk mail,
- even despite having been posted on January 8. I doubt not that they will
- arrive soon, but, in the meantime, let me offer eager conventioneers the
- essential details about the conference, in the event that they want to proceed
- with plans and reservations. All of the information below is detailed in
- the wandering packets, which, I hope, will find their way to your respective
- homesteads in short order. So, the essential articles for the study of SCSECS:
- DATES: Thursday, March 11, 2:15 pm, to Saturday, March 13, 5:00 pm.
- VENUE: Baton Rouge Hilton Hotel, 1-800-621-5116 or 1-504-924-5000
- HOTEL RATE: $60.00 flat rate, single double, triple, or quad
- DESIGNATED AIR CARRIER: Continental Airlines; use "event code" ZMN8
- SOCIAL PROGRAM: Amazing, extensive, and detailed in the wandering packets.
- Believe me, if I had known that bulk mail would take three weeks, I would have
- used first class! I'm most sorry.
- Packets have been sent to all SCSECS members and to all persons whom the
- membership secretary could identify as non-members but program participants.
- If you are not a member but would like a program (mailed first class) send the
- annual $5.00 dues to Prof. Sara Burroughs, c/o Department of Language and
- Communications, Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, Louisiana,
- 71497.
-
- Thanks, and keep a weather eye out for those programs! They are coming!
- KEVIN L. COPE SCSECS President
