- Ya know..you wouldn't think my criteria for a place to eat would be that
- hard...it's only a 3-part test, after all:
-
- 1) Has to be able to seat folks for dinner at about 10pm on a Friday
- night;
-
- 2) Has to have a real menu and real waiting service; and
-
- 3) Has to serve coffee and dessert.
-
- Anne,
- Il Fornaio on Cowper St. off University in Palo Alto would seem to fit
- the above criteria. Serves dinner until midnight, good pasta, never had
- any problems with the service(it's usually quite good), cant vouch for
- the coffee(I'm more of a wine-port person), however I'm sure that I must
- have had the coffee on occasion and don't remember it being *bad* (obviously
- not too memorable either).

- So far, just about the only places which seem to fit this criteria are
- Max's at the Stanford Center, and Friday's down by Valco. [Let's rule
- out places like Denny's, shall we?..I guess there is an unstated 4th
- criteria: has to serve real food :-)].
-
- Anybody have any suggestions? A group of us go out pretty regularly on
- Friday nights after a class that gets out at 9:30pm. Most of us live in
- the Palo Alto to Sunnyvale area.
