- I like Singer's Sewing Step by Step for a good introductory book. It may
- not go in as great a depth as other books, but the photographs really help
- explain the text. Also, even after you become accomplished with
- dressmaking, the book is still useful as an introduction to tailoring and
- home sewing. I would recommend that anyone who is considering buying an
- introductory book first look in the library and try out the book for free
- to find out what best suits her or him. What may be right for one of us
- won't be the best for someone else.
