  38. A note about the casting of the current PBS TV series...
  39.  
  40. Between the first series and second, both Madalyn Basset and Gussie
  41. Fink-Nottle were recast.  My mother didn't approve of the change,
  42. saying that the "new" Miss Basset comes off like the "dumb blonde"
  43. in old movies, though the new Gussie is more "sensible" than the  
  44. old one.

  46. Incidentally, in the episode where Bertie and Gussie had to imper-   
  47. sonate each other (that's no more of a spoiler than in the TV guide),
  48. I about cracked up when I heard the name that Catsmeat Potter-Perbright
  49. was using when he was pretending to be a valet--"Meadows".  Check
  50. out my own name and you'll see why.  :-)
