- First, a question: does anyone know of any Wodehouse translations? The task
- seems impossible to me. I remember an essay burbling about the impossibility
- of translating the Master into French... (reference, old thing?)
-
- Wherefore I propose, fellow Drones, a brief sporting flutter. Let us create:
-
- THE GREAT TRANSLATION HANDICAP
-
- Competitors select any three paragraphs of Wodehouse and translate them
- into any other language. The paragraphs don't have to be consecutive; in
- fact, it might be far more interesting to select whatever three paragraphs you
- think best show off the Master's wonderful command of the pliable tongue. Post
- results to the net.
-
- Now, the fun part:
-
- Bettors give odds on which selection&translation will win a popular vote...
- Have I roused the sporting blood of the Drones?
