  13. I have a few questions after finishing the Silmarillion for the first
  14. time that perhaps some of you would be kind enough to field.

  16. The events in the book really don't get much more than a cursory
  17. treatment, inspiring though it is.  Do all those other books (The
  18. Books of Lost Tales, The Last Days of Beleriand) elaborate on these
  19. selfsame stories?
  20.  
  21. Does /Quenta Silmarillion/ correspond to the First Age, the /Akallabeth/
  22. and the downfall of the Numenor the Second and then Isildur onward the
  23. Third?
  24.
