- It remains to be seen what Cyrix' next chip does. The 486SLC and DLC
- will probably eat up AMD for the low end systems. If the rumors of a
- Cyrix 586 come true, then Intel will need a "hexium" to beat it.

- On the other hand, take a look at DEC, the Alpha, and Windows NT.
- It's just possible that NT will make it possible for the industry to
- choose a new binary standard, which might be MIPS, or maybe Alpha; but
- this might make Intel look at a different set of competitors than C&T,
- AMD, and Cyrix.
