- As of now, there is no OS/2 driver for the Ultrasound. There is one in
- the works but it's not at the top of their priority list. What you
- should do, and what I've told all Ultrasound & OS/2 owners to do is
- write them and tell them what OS/2 is for real and here to stay. ANd
- that SOund Blaster has a driver (in beta) already and PAS's OS/2 driver
- is coming as well. You should have email access so this would be free
- for you. Here is their addresses....
-
- Write Alan, the tech guy, at 71333.350@compuserve.com.
-
- AND
-
- write Chris, the salesguy, at yuzik@sfu.ca.
-
- Tell them we want an OS/2 driver for the Ultrasound.
- Meanwhile. You should read comp.sys.ibm.pc.soundcard and join the
- Ultrasound mailing list (free for those with email access). There are
- those who have it working under a DOS box but you can't have any
- hardware conflicts at all under OS/2. It's not as forgiving as DOS. For
- example, in DOS, you can use IRQ 7 even though this is really for the
- printer. But nobody really uses it so everyone uses it for other
- hardware. Not so under OS/2. I'll send you the info on the mailing list
- below....

- Greetings!
-
- There's been a lot of talk lately about the Gravis Ultrasound,
- as well as the mailing list for it. I thought I'd put in my two cents
- worth on the topic, as I happen to know a little about the mailing
- list... I'm the administrator. :)
-
- To join, mail to the request server. It will help you get
- signed up. This is also the address for accessing the mailserver.
- Just send mail to:
-
- ultrasound-request@dsd.es.com
-
- To post a message onto the digest, mail to:
-
- ultrasound@dsd.es.com
-
- If you have trouble with the server, feel free to mail to:
-
- ultrasound-owner@dsd.es.com
-
- This will put you in touch with a real human. If you can't
- mail to that, just mail me directly and we'll figure something out.
- The server isn't perfect, though, and I'd really appreciate it if
- you'd let me know what goes wrong with it if you try to use it and it
- croaks.
-
- Thanks for your time!
