- Can anyone tell me what the following error message means?
-
- CMINIT Warning: Hive 'SOFTWARE' could not be created/loaded.
-
- I get this message during boot-up after the kernel goes through and
- examines the FAT volumes, and after the message:
-
- INIT: Created paging file \DosDevices\C:\pagefile.sys [10..60]MB
-
- Also, even though all my FAT partitions are good, I always get an
- error message along the lines of "disk error reading FAT 2 on drive
- x:", where x: can be D: or E:. (Norton Disk Doctor confirms these
- partitions to be okay prior to installing NT). I have a 1GB disk
- organized as a 200MB primary partition and an 800MB extended partition
- split into two 400MB logical drives, D: and E:. I'm installing NT on
- E:.
-
- Could it be a problem with the SCSI driver? I'm using a beta miniport
- driver that wasn't included in the October CDROM.
