- I've had the July release running fine on the same hardware for the past many months. I'm
- currently trying to upgrade to the Oct. Beta.
-
- I boot with the CD and the boot floppy. The "text" part of the installation proceeds
- perfectly. When the "Windows NT Setup" graphical screen comes up, however, vertical bands
- appear across the screen, and on the ms-window in the middle in particular. These bands don't
- go away as the installation proceeds (even though the video is set to the generic IBM VGA
- video). Installation completed, NT boots fine, but those bands appear when the NT banner
- comes up. For example, when the login prompt window comes up, it has vertical bands in it,
- through which you can see the underlying "flag" of the NT banner below. On logging in, the
- problem continues with every window that comes up, rendering the screen unreadable after some
- time.
-
- I have Windows 3.1 under high resolution working fine on the same machine.
-
- Any suggestions? Anyone seen this problem before? I would really appreciate any help!!!
- I still can't figure why the same machine/hardware running the July release would have
- a problem with the Oct. release.
