- Hi there,
- This probelm seems related to wspdppsf.drv of Diamond Speedstar 24X graphics
- card (version 2.02, current as far as I know). But since Diamond's techie is
- of no help when I called, maybe some in the netland could shed some light.
-
- The error msgs are:
-
- WINOLDAP caused GPF in module WSPDPPSF.drv at 0001:1E24
- .
- .
- .
-
- Each and every running process causes the same error at the same address. The
- Windows is eventually shut down with a msg
-
- Standard mode: Invalid DPMI return from 061F:01B2
-
- I tried both Norton for Win 2.0 and progman as shell, with various apps running
- as well as the "clean" configuration. The error is very non-reproducible. It's
- not related to any particular app, according to my experiments. Usually it
- doesn't happen with the first few apps in Windows, be it dos or Windows apps.
- So it seems that the error occurs when a certain memory address is accessed
- (presumably 0001:1E24), which is accessed only after a series of apps are
- executed.
-
- I compared many files with their originals. File corruption seems not a
- possibility.
-
- The card has a jumper controlling the use of IRQ2, which is enabled. Could
- that be a possible cause? Yeah, I know. I just hate to open the case the
- disable the jumper. The only add-in cards are this Speedstar card and an inter-
- nal modem.
-
- Thanx.
-
