- I've noticed quite a few things have been in Fixed Key mode lately,
- namely CNN/HN, HBO, TMC, TFC (all on G5), as well as WWOR-NY and
- a few scattered others. What gives? Is there some listing of what
- services are in Fixed Key and when/how long they are to remain that
- way? I've heard rumblings that the recent brash of Fixed Key stuff was
- due to GI shutting off some of the cableco datastream codes, and giving
- the cablecos time to purchase new descramblers. Of course it could also
- be program seller's pushing for subscription services... Also, is E! and
- BET supposed to scramble this year? I keep seeing them advertised as
- parts of programming packages, but they are always ITC! Is this just
- hype on the part of the programmer's or have the people at E! having
- such heavy delusions that they think people will actually pay for their
- service (all four hours of repeats+Howard Stern).
