I seriously doubt that moving to the new birds had anything to do with his
signal quality improving.  If his S/N ratio got better, than they cleaned
up the amps feeding his line, and or made improvements at the head end.

Moving to the new birds would have removed any sparklies, which I doubt that
he had.

Ask him how his image improved and have him name channels.
