- There is a car rental booth outside Union Station in Toronto (Tilden
- Rent-a-car, the Canadian affiliate of National Car Rental). I think
- there is a Hertz rental counter (or at least a courtesy phone -- that
- is, a yellow phone without a dial that is connected to a Hertz office
- when you pick it up) at Central Station in Montreal.
-
- I seem to remember advertising from a car rental company on VIA Rail
- ticket jackets, but I forget which company was advertising. I haven't
- seen that advertising lately, now that VIA has switched to thicker
- tickets that don't need an airline-style ticket jacket.
-
- Even if there isn't enough potential business to justify a full-time
- rental booth at a given railway station, perhaps a car rental company
- might find it worthwhile to provide a courtesy phone and free delivery
- of cars to the station.
-
- When I was in Britain in May and June, I didn't notice any car rental
- locations in railway stations there, but I wasn't really looking for
- rental cars. Trains are nicer!
