- Just a note... most of the photo literature I've got from the
- 19th century use the 5x4, 10x8, 8.5x6.5 format. Can't quite
- pinpoint when the change occured.

- Regarding gearing on the field view cameras: my old Kodak
- 8x10 has geared tilt on the back (fixed front standard), as
- does my 11x14 century (circa late 1800's). At least on these,
- the gearing is nice, but quite restriciting compared to the
- ungeared view systems I've got.
