- Warm water will swell the paper/gel more than cold water -- a
- technique used in Collotypes; that is, add more warm water to
- increase the swelling.
-
- Arista is available from Freestyle. They advertise in Shutterbug.
- Arista Classic seems to be one of the only bromides left that
- can be used for some of the older processes. Newer emulsions add
- too many hardners making the unsuitable for the various 19th
- processes.
-
- Many of the b&w folks at the local photo gallery like the way
- the Arista matt looks when I bring it in for critiques. The paper
- works well with Marshall pencils/oils for coloring.
-
- As to your experiment printing with the paper wet: sounds like it
- should work. When using paper negatives I've often wet both, the
- paper neg and the unexposed paper in order to get good contact. But
- I never noticed an increase in sharpness, since the paper neg already
- gave me a rather pictoralist fuzzyness!
-
- Let me/us know the results.
