- Quite interesting. I made myself something similar to your Tonnage Allocation
- Limit table. I call it the Mech Engine Performance table (MEP table).
- It shows how much weight remains (in tons) for a desired Cruise Speed.
- And your Roadrunner 20 ton mech, with 9,14 speed has 6 tons available
- for Armor, weapons or heat sinks (useless here). If you would prefer
- a speed of 10,15, you would have 4.5 tons remaining for weapons/armor.
- That amazingly fast Mech could have one or 2 Med Lasers and use the
- remaining for Armor (56 points of armor available with one Med Laser, and
- 40 points available with 2 Med lasers. I designed a Mech along those
- lines and I called it the "Flash" ;)
-
- If you take a look at the Charger, you'll see that it has 12.5 tons available
- for weapons/armor. But a 70 ton Mech going at 5,8 has 26.5 ton available
- for weapons/armor ! Hence the super charger.
-
- As for the Charger's cousin you mentionned (with 20 MGs), I would beleive
- the SuperCharger more threatening since he can soften up targets before
- ramming them :)
