- The PowerBook 180 is a great machine. Unfortunately, there are no
- killer-strong chess programs on the Mac. Personally, I favor Sargon IV,
- although it hasn't been upgraded in many years and may fail to run on
- PowerBooks. Also, if you can scrounge up a copy of Psion Chess, it's
- pretty good. (It's an early version of the Richard Lang program.) Other
- choices include CheckMate, which is OK buy flaky, Chessmaster 2100, which
- is even flakier, and GnuChess 3.x. As far as I know, Chessmaster 3000 is
- not yet available on the Mac.
