  21. You betcha.  There are many important factors which can differ between
  22. drivers, and many ways that a company can 'skimp' in making the units.
  23. Price _sometimes_ says a lot, as does the manufacturer.

  29. It has been commonly held that a box's volume can vary by as much as 10%
  30. without serious effects to response.  When you throw in the variability
  31. due to port volume, driver volume, and interior support volume, things
  32. really go out the door.

  34. By the by, your dealer is certainly not required to steer you towards a
  35. good driver.  They may have decided that you look like you 'couldn't
  36. afford' or 'wouldn't appreciate' the other units, or that they would
  37. make better money or a faster sale off the MTX.

  42. First, before going to tons of trouble, try stuffing your box with polyester
  43. fill and see what you think.  If the problem persists (ie: you're still not
  44. happy) look into getting a new box AND driver.  Talk to the installers, not
  45. the salesguys.  The installer has listened to _every_ vehicle he worked on -
  46. the salesguy has listened to maybe 1 in 20 of the systems he sells.

  48. Besides that, you may want to check the tuning of your box to make sure that
  49. it is up to spec.
