- Remember, there are NO female cast members. I actually think that they
- do an EXCELLENT job playing the women's parts in the tradition of
- classic Shakespearian Theater. FYI, Shakespearian theater had no
- female actresses 'in the olden days', so men played the parts. Here is
- an ensemble that has no women, and they are not doing drag for the
- humor sake as much as there are no women in the core ensemble.
-
- I happen to like the Pepperpots of Python. Drag can be boring or funny
- depending on the execution. For example, if you get the chance, check
- out the episode 'What Price Gloria' the next time USA runs it (Yes,
- it's Quantum Leap). The final scene is the most HYSTERICAL 'drag'
- scene ever done. (Of course, Scott is playing a woman in the scene.)
-
- One last example of funny drag. Watch any older episode of MASH with
- Jamie Farr. You have to laugh seeing that hairy body in a dress. (OK,
- it may have gotten old after the first couple of times, but the
- initial impact...)
