- Drownded Rat
-
- Adrift alone in the night
- Calm, only a wee bit cold
- A distant faint light
- Drew me to its gold
-
- Lured by words of shared joy
- I was tied bound and gagged
- E're I saw the master's ploy
- So frightening - to be bagged
-
- Silently, carefully, fearfully
- At the other end of the sack from him
- I gnawed, clawed my way free
- As light failed from faint to dim.
-
- I grow slower and even less bold.
- As around me it slowly revolves,
- The water's much more dark and cold
- And what's left of me it slowly disolves.
