- OK. On to something far less controversial than con talk (although for some
- equally painful). I had a long afternoon with two Japanese girls and the
- topic of conversation drifted to Christmas and Valentines Day. Commenting on
- the crowd at Disneyland, one of the Japanese girls commented that Christmas
- was a "lover's holiday" in Japan, not a family one. Apparently the three big
- "lover's holidays" are:
-
- -Valentines Day
- (The girl gives Chocolates and gifts to a boy)
-
- -I forgot the name, please help (in March)
- (The boy returns the favor with expensive gifts--I heard Tiffany's far too
- often here for MY comfort...)
-
- -Christmas
- (time for couples to take time out with each other...sigh)
-
- This should explain much to all you diehard otakus who dust out their favorite
- Christmas episodes to watch instead of "It's A Wonderful Life", like KOR
- "Triple Christmas".
-
- Well, enough of this. I wish everyone on the net peace and tranquility this
- holiday season, be it with your family, lover, or con staff.
- To all the friends I've made here, on RAA, IRC and at CalAnimage (you too PC),
-
- MERRY CHRISTMAS!
