-
- Yeah, so what? Guests cancelled for AC'91 too. You can't blame Mike Tatsugawa
- for that. And AA'93 just annouced cancellations too. Gee, imagine that, AA
- suffers from cancellations too.
-
- >they think that this has to be the dumus thing they seen in years
- >2 cons a week apart for the same stuff How will it work ?
-
- You know what, most people seem to think it is stupid. And AX'93 was announced
- first. AA'93 conveniently scheduled their con one week before AX'93.
-
- >Here's why >1 the orginal staff walk off siteing they can't work
- >with Mike here (Hey Mike I like you but it's the turth)
-
- Many of the staff stayed. Being the way I am, ie I don't give a whit about the
- rules, I let myself 'backstage' at AX'92 and saw the ways the then AC'93
- promoters were begging staff away from AX'93. Personally I feel that running
- AA'93 as it has been is unethical and malicious. And this is apart from the
- time I spent with Mike. I keep my eyes and ears open, and most of the time I
- kep my mouth shut. Until something needs to be said.
-
- The supporters of AA'93 have continuously slandered Mike and the AX staff.
- They leap to conclusions and fling mud, while Mike remains above that. He has
- gone up a great deal in my eyes for not sustaining a flame war.
-
- >Hey folks i think we the one's who get's the bill here. look at the parking
- >they have said the "if" you don't want to park at the hotel you cam
- >go about 5 to 8 blocks away. Hey people the "safe zone" that the police have
-
- And they have BART, many people don't need to bring cars. And all the people
- flying in could care less about parking.
-
- >you know this I been there 2 times and I seen more crime than I care for
-
- So? Arisia is in downtown Boston. I can walk for a few minutes in Worcester
- and be in gang turf. If you aren't familiar with cities venturing about is not
- a good idea anyway. (And I still do it... In decently sized groups.)
-
- > I mean if you think that a few fans writing letters asking Rumiko Takahashi
- >to come is going to work this is nuts.
-
- As Mike said she is loking to come to a con, and he was even civil enough to
- mention AA'93 and AX'93 and not slam AA. He left the AX'93 support to the end
- of the post. Mike cares about the fans and he would like to see more guests
- come to the US, of course he favors AX, but if a guest shows for either con the
- fans benefit.
-
- >Look if you want a letter war you not going to get it that way and if
- >AA'93 wanted to say have fans wirte any of the Japanese GoH's all they have
-
- Again, Mike specifically suggested stating which con, either one. I would be
- very surprised if AA would have done the same.
-
- >I think that I need to see where all of this cash is come from so
- >right here and now I'm asking to see your books.!
-
- Mikimoto has agreed in the past to return to the US. He loves fandom. So, is
- AA non-profit? I thought it was. So I could request to see their books too.
- Maybe I will, but I don't see the reason. I am more concerned with the
- macroscopic aspects of the con, what the fans get, the general 'attitude' or
- the con organization, how people are treated, ethical actions, etc...
-
- BTW, it is the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation, SPJA.
-
- >i'll give till Saturday to post or give me a leagle and valed reasen why
-
- The law DOES NOT require them to post it to the nets. So that is an invalid
- request. You can only ask to see them for yourself, others can ask if they
- want to see them. And giving an unreasonable deadline will not hold. If they
- have to copy them and mail them, then you wait.
-
- >Hey gang the score is 19 to 4 on Goh's in AA'92 favor who do you
- >think's got there act together now.
-
- Well, I think it is AX. BTW, you need to find out the difference between a
- guest and a Guest of Honor. Go recount and let me know what you come up with.
-
- >Oh I work at both cons in the dealers room see if you can rember where?
-
- Since I'm lousy with names I have no idea where you worked.
