  21. We are currently seeking a CONNECTIVITY ENGINEER-ODBC to join our
  22. CONNECTIVITY ENGINEERING Orgnaization.
  23.  
  24. JOB DESCRIPTION:   Responsible for developing a ODBC router connecting 
  25. Gupta API-based frontend products to all SQL data base servers supporting 
  26. Microsoft ODBC specifications.  The charter of this position is to assist 
  27. in defining the strategy and requirements for ODBC connectivity for Gupta 
  28. API-based products and then to design, implement, and test an ODBCRouter 
  29. product.  It is expected that the candidate will be able to architect.

  32. THIS POSITION REQUIRES:
  33.  
  34. - BS or MS in Computer Science
  35. - MINIMUM 5-7 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
  36.      *Developing products for PC-Lan based client-server computing,
  37.       especially SQL connectivity via the ODBC specifications.
  38.      *Developing SQL database managers
  39.      *Developing products based on SQL, including familiarity with
  40.       dynamic SQL.
  41. - Experience installing and testing RDBMS's
  42. - Good foundation in testing principles, general software development
  43.   practices.
  44. - Knowledge of SQL client/server architectures.
  45. - Knowledge of message intrfaces and API architectures.
  46. - Familiarity with following environments is desireable:
  47.      *ODBC specifications
  48.      *IBM's Distributed Remote DataBase Architecture (DRDA)
  49.      *RDS, SQL Access API and Formats & Protocols (FAP)
  50.      *IBM's SAA components
  51. - Experience with windows programming desireable.
