- We are currently seeking a CONNECTIVITY ENGINEER-DRDA/DBM to join our
- connectivity Engineering organization.

- Job description: Responsible for developing a DRDA Gateway (and possibly a
- router) to IBM SQL backends. Also responsible for supporting and
- enhancing the current OS2 DataBase Manager (DBM) Gateway product. Will
- involve installing new releases of DBM or OS2 or both, testing and
- upgrading the current product and maintaining the product line with
- changes to Gupta desktop products and Gupta's SQLBase product. Charter of
- this position is to assist in defining the strategy and requirements for
- DRDA connectivity for Gupta API-based products and then to design,
- implement, and test a DRDA Gateway/Router product. In addition to
- responsiblities described here, this position will also involve working
- with IBM.

- This position requires:
- - BS or MS in Computer Science
- - MINIMUM of 4-5 years experience in one or more of the following areas:
- * Developing products ofr PC-Lan based client-server computing
- * Developing SQL database managers
- * Developing products based on SQL, including familiarity with
- dynamic SQL.

- - Experience installing and testing RDBMS's.
- - Good foundation in testing principles, general software development
- practices, knowledge of SQL client/server architectures and knowledge
- of message interfaces and API architectures.
- - Experience in one or more of the following environments:
- * OS2 & OS2 DataBase Manager
- * IBM's Distributed Remote DataBase Architecture (DRDA)
- * RDA, SQL Access API and Formats & Protocols (FAP)
- * IBM's SAA components
- - Windows programming experience desired.
