- Hello, all:
- A while ago, there was a discussion about home-made
- high carb/protein low fat juices. This is the latest concoction
- I have been using. It's very tasty, filling and stops any craving
- I might have for chocolate.
-
- Blend together:
- 1 whole banana, sliced, about 8" long (without peel, o'course)
- I/2 an apple, peeled, chopped, about 3 1/4" in diameter
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 cup skim milk
-
- The nutritional breakdown is as follows:
-
- Food Calories Proteins Carbohydrates Fats
- (g) (g) (g)
- ------------------------------------------------------------------
- 1c. Skim Milk 85 8 12 0
- 2 tbsp. Honey 130 0 34 0
- 1/2 Apple 125 16 3 1
- 1 Banana 105 1 27 1
- ------------------------------------------------------------------
- Total 445 25 76 2
- % Calories from fat = 2*9*100/445 = 4.0%
-
- I forgot the book that I got this info from at home, so I can't
- give U the names of the authors. The book is called "Nutrition,
- Concepts and Controversies."
-
- If anyone is interested, try out this shake. It's very tasty
- and very low in fat. Let me know what you think.
