- I'm having some trouble ftping. For the last two months now,
- I've tried and learned everything from getting demo files, downloading
- them, and then needing to uncompress them. The LhA and DMS files I need
- are on some ftp site fish disk directories, but they seem to be protected
- by their own compression. NEverthless, I was told that they would
- be self-executable. Now, I've run into a new problem. My modem program
- states that in xmodeming files, it will add extra "cushioning" bits of
- characters at the end. To make the file and "object" there is a program
- built into the modem program from some public domain program called
- "fixobject" When I fixobject, I enter system cli and with the disk in
- the drive, I type fixobj df1:<name of file> df0:<destination file> but
- whatever I do, whatever variation of this, I get the error
- "<downloaded file> is not a load file" Now that I'm stuck once again,
- can anyone help me? - or is it time to get another modem program?
