  10.     I'm having some trouble ftping.  For the last two months now,
  11. I've tried and learned everything from getting demo files, downloading
  12. them, and then needing to uncompress them.  The LhA and DMS files I need
  13. are on some ftp site fish disk directories, but they seem to be protected
  14. by their own compression.  NEverthless, I was told that they would
  15. be self-executable.  Now, I've run into a new problem.  My modem program
  16. states that in xmodeming files, it will add extra "cushioning" bits of
  17. characters at the end.  To make the file and "object" there is a program
  18. built into the modem program from some public domain program called
  19. "fixobject"  When I fixobject, I enter system cli and with the disk in 
  20. the drive, I type fixobj df1:<name of file> df0:<destination file> but
  21. whatever I do, whatever variation of this, I get the error
  22. "<downloaded file> is not a load file"  Now that I'm stuck once again,
  23. can anyone help me?  - or is it time to get another modem program?
