- What Microsoft is doing with the clone makers is really just another example of
- the trendy new concept in purchasing called "Just in time" purchasing. The idea
- is that instead of having 3 or 4 suppliers for one of your components, you
- form a long-term relationship with a trusted supplier who will be your only
- source. You save money because instead of having to keep an inventory of
- all of your supplies you're supplier will ship to you exactly what you need
- exactly when you need it.

- This "just in time" is spreading like wildfire because it saves money and makes
- manufacturers more efficient. EVERYBODY is doing it, not just Microsoft.
