  29. There have been no forced layoffs as yet; IBM's 'hard times' are
  30. doubtless still the envy of many smaller companies.

  32. Your point though, is totally specious. The market didn't take care of
  33. itself, IBM took its eye off the ball by completely underestimating
  34. the impact of PCs until it was too late for them top establish the
  35. sort of monopolistic strangehold they had over the mainframe market.

  37. As for being 'harrassed' by the feds.... You speak of antitrust
  38. violiations and fail to use to word alleged, so I presume you are
  39. tacitly admitting the truth of the allegations. The waste of taxpayers
  40. money was the government's (actually as I recall the Reagan white
  41. house's) fault for dropping the case at the last minute.
