- There have been no forced layoffs as yet; IBM's 'hard times' are
- doubtless still the envy of many smaller companies.

- Your point though, is totally specious. The market didn't take care of
- itself, IBM took its eye off the ball by completely underestimating
- the impact of PCs until it was too late for them top establish the
- sort of monopolistic strangehold they had over the mainframe market.

- violiations and fail to use to word alleged, so I presume you are
- tacitly admitting the truth of the allegations. The waste of taxpayers
- money was the government's (actually as I recall the Reagan white
- house's) fault for dropping the case at the last minute.
