- And unfortunately that goes very deep and does certainly not stop at the
- operating system. Once you deart from a von-Neuman architecture, many
- respected truths are no longer applicable. Take the well-known suggestion
- that a binary chop is the fastest way to serch an ordered list. If you have
- two processors (and a few more performance parameters ...) you will find
- the fastest search splits the population at the 62/38 % rather than at 50/50.
