- Subject: Online submission of order requests on Innopac

- I've been asked to query the listserv to learn if any Innopac acquisitions
- sites have found a way for selectors to input their order requests online
- to their acquisitions departments. At this Geac site, selectors' staff
- across campus and at remote campuses submit most of their order requests
- online via the Geac acquisitions system. With Geac, it is possible to
- enable staff to input records into the acquisitions system while limiting
- which funds can be encumbered--and to prevent such staff from actually
- generating a purchase order. The Geac system automatically prints a
- request form the following morning for any record that is input into the
- system which is not turned into an order; this request form is used by
- acquisitions staff for searching OCLC, serials records, BIP, etc in lieu
- of the usual printed purchase request form. This online request method is
- very popular around the system. Are there any Innovative libraries with
- such a scheme who would be willing to contact me? I will summarize for the
- list if there are any replies.
