- Systems Support Specialist (Programmer/Analyst II)
- UCSF Library and Center for Knowledge Management

- The University of California San Francisco Library and Center for
- Knowledge Management has an opening for a Systems Support
- Specialist in the Computing and Communications Services unit.

- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- * Provide support for Library's Innopac and Innovacq systems and
- serve as the primary contact between the Library and
- Innovative Interfaces, Inc.
- * Provide support for access to UC's Melvyl system and serve as
- the Liaison between the Library and the Division of Library
- Automation at the UC Office of the President
- * Troubleshoot and diagnose network problems
- * Provide support for Library's OCLC/PRISM access and serve as
- the primary contact between the Library and OCLC
- * Install, maintain, and document general-purpose as well as
- library-specific system software under Unix, Macintosh, MS-
- DOS, Windows, and OS/2
- * Perform basic Unix system administration duties including
- filesystem backup and user account creation
- * Provide basic support for MS-DOS, Macintosh, and Windows-based
- systems
- * Assist and train staff in the use of software
- * Other duties as required

- REQUIREMENTS
- * Knowledge of automated bibliographic systems such as
- OCLC/PRISM, Innopac, and Melvyl
- * Knowledge of the USMARC format
- * Familiarity with general principles of cataloging (e.g.,
- AACR2)
- * Familiarity with basic PC applications, MS-DOS batch files,
- basic PC hardware configuration
- * Knowledge of basic telecommunications principles (e.g., RS232)
- * Knowledge of network fundamentals
- * Familiarity with Unix, MS-DOS, Macintosh, Windows, or OS/2
