  16. All branches currently on our INNOPAC use LC classification.  LC call numbers
  17. are in MARC fields tagged 050 in either the Bib or item record.  Shortly, we
  18. will be adding 2 branches that use NLM classification.  In preparation, III has
  19. added an NLM classification index that will be derived from item record call
  20. numbers in a MARC field tagged 060.  Our future branches' call numbers QS thru
  21. QZ and W thru WZ will go in our NLM classification index.  My question is where
  22. do we put LC classification numbers used by branches using NLM classification,
  23. eg. BF, HV, U, V?  Should these LC-like call numbers be placed in the NLM
  24. index, thereby keeping all of our new branches' call numbers in one index?  Or,
  25. should the LC-like call numbers be placed in the LC index, thereby keeping all
  26. like call numbers in one index?

  28. Does anyone know what happens with the SCAT table if LC-like classification
  29. numbers are placed in an NLM classification number index?  Does the SCAT table
  30. work with 2 call number indexes?

  32. Are there any other problems I should look out for?
