- Carol, I really enjoyed this film, too. I thought it was Martin's best work
- to date, his most demanding role in terms of emotional range, etc. Some
- critics criticized the ending but I thought it fit the movie and the character.
- I'd love to discuss in more detail but don't wan't to spoil for others. I
- will say that the soundtrack is terrific, both the gospel songs and the score.
- I also thought Debra Winger and Liam Neeson were very good in the supporting
- cast. A thought-provoking, funny but serious film about faith (despite what
- people like Michael Medved and the other fellow on Sneak Previews had to say
- -- they despised the film, called it "a bomb" and an attack on religion).
- Too bad it's not doing well at the box-office. I think it is Martin's break-
- through role, he deserves to be nominated for his performance as much as
- Robin Williams did for GOOD MORNING ,VIETNAM. Any other comments?
-
- Thanks,
- Mary
