- Pentecost is the day we celebrate the first Pentecost, the day when
- the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles (don't have my Bible here
- at work so I can't give you references).
-
- Pentecost is basically the birthday of the Church.
-
- Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, the season of penitence
- and preparation before Holy Week. It is the custom to receive ashes
- on one's forehead on this day as a sign of penitence.
-
- Hope this helps a bit.
